On 15th August at 7.00 AM I had booked a Meru cab#KA53A7666 for myself, from Marathahalli Bus stop to Bangalore city railway station (Majestic).
Till 6.55 AM I didnt get any call from taxi driver so I called him. He said he is near to old airport will be reaching at next 5 minutes. Finally he arrived at 7.10 AM. My train was at 8.15 AM.
I am Sure that the distance between this 2 stop is Max 14-16 Kms( If you go by Old Airport Road). But in my trip it is showing that 24.4 km because the Cab driver took Outer Ring Road.
And his excuse was due to 15th August there is a heavy traffic Jam and because of this he was supposed to take us to Majestic Via Habbal. When he realized that he will not be able to reach destination by 8.00 AM if he drives via Habbal then he changed the route from KR Puram.
It took almost 1 hr to reach from Marathahalli to Majestic that too early morning and we also paid just double amount. I don’t understand whether this is the strategy by the Meru cabs to take the longest route to charge more amount from the customer.
And the cab driver collected RS 477.00 from us. Ideally the amount should be between 200-250 rupee. I believe somehow cab driver wanted to collect 500 rupees from us so that he could get maximum profit. Again is this is a new strategy to collect more amount from customer.
Thanks,
Abhi
