Getting worse from bad

Yesterday, I booked a Meru cab at around noon and instantly received the booking reference no.4733993 which was booked from Mira Rd to Thane for 8.30 am. Today morning at 7.30 am I placed a call to the call center to check whether my booking was confirmed to which I received a positive response. Post which I received the chauffer details sms.


Cab no. MH01JA5263 Manoj Kumar Shitla Prasad Gupta cell 9699923136 I instantly placed a call to him to which there was no response. At 8.15 am, I again placed a call to the call center to which the rep said it is just 8.15 and the cab is at Asmita so the chauffer should be there by 8.30 am. Again, there was no call from the chauffer. I called up the call center to which I received a response that there were no calls available to Mira Road hence the booking is cancelled. Imagine my state as I had to reach Thane for an emergency issue. I eventually hired a cool cab from outside.


He took 400 from me as they have fixed rates etc that’s still better than MERU which backed out at the last minute.


I called up the call center and placed a complaint with Pradnya to which she apologized and said that I will received the action taken from her concerned person within 3 working days i.e. by tuesday 26-Apr-2011


On reaching office, I informed my colleague and looks like it has happened with him too on various occasion. He books the cab for his expecting wife and imagine her state wherein she had to wait and she was informed about the cancelled bookings. Still, there has been no action from Meru as he didn’t receive the call from Meru yet.


I would like MERU to answer to this:


What is the use of booking the cab 8 hours+ prior when we receive such treatment?


Who pays for the 400 charged to me?


Why did they confirm the booking, if no cabs were available to the said location?


What is the action they take against the call center rep, driver etc esp when its happening repeatedly?


Who pays for the wasted time, energy? Can they compensate such things?


Please use care while calling MERU. Try other radio cabs or best befriend a local cab nearby, I am sure he will be more loyal to you than MERU
