Miserable and NOT trustworthy

This is what I wrote to Meru cabs. This is what they offer to NRIs. God knows what they do to resident Indians!*_

I had booked a Meru cab during my Hyderabad trip on30-Aug-2010from my Andheri East home to the Domestic Airport. However, your Meru cab numberMH01 JA5441, chauffeur nameMakardhawaj Sarojhaving cell phone number09594985673did not show up. But there is more to it than just that.


Thepick-upwas supposed to be at 4.30am from my Andheri East home. However when Ididn’tget a call till around 4.20am from your driver, I called him to ask him where he was. He informed me in a rather lazy manner with tobacco(or something) in his mouth that he was at the International Airport and would arrive in a few minutes. Then he tells me hedidn’tknow the address, for which I had to give him directions step-by-step.


I waited for over 20 minutes till he calls me saying he just realised his tyre is punctured and so can’t move from the International Airport. He asked me to wait till he came, which would be almost 30 - 45 mins. That very clearly meant I was going to miss my 6.15am flight cause my check-in was at 5.15am.


Eventually, that is precisely what happened. My wife and I had to reschedule since Idon’tget a rickshaw or taxi at that time of day, from where I live. I got a rickshaw from the highway at around 5.45am and I had a loss of a few hundred Rupees for our no-show and wasted 2 hours at the airport for another flight.




  1. Your driverdoesn’tbother to call and inform the passenger that hedoesn’tknow the address.




  2. The passenger is informed just 5 mins beforepick-upthat the driver is almost 10 kms away.




  3. Does it take 20 minutes for your driver to realise that he has apuncture, even though he was standing right there?




  4. The driver is chewing tobacco(or something) and talking to the passenger as if he is least concerned.






I care less about the small monetary loss but more of the loss of time and totalunprofessional attitudeof your company. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience with Meru cabs and am not taking it lightly no more. A year back during my International flight to Dubai also I witnessed a similar incident. I am posting this onMouthshut.com**and making sure everyone hears of this.


However, I’d like to see what action your company takes towards my complaint.
