I had booked a Meru cab for my wife on 8th Aug for 9th Aug, 9am. The taxi was confirmed. She had an important appointment quite far away.
Next morning, at 8:30am, Meru called up quitecasually to inform us that the taxi will be delayed by ½ hr and will come at9:30am, instead of 9am. So I had to go all the way to drop her and go late to the office.
This is not what I expect from a "fancy" cab company like Meru. When you have a fancy website that over promises reliability in so many words(“meru philosophy” and “commitment to unshakeable reliability”and “Meru- unconditional reliability, always.” and “promise of reliability”), why not show the commitment with deeds rather than words. Theres no point in over-promising and under-delivering.
Also, there is a premium being charged for Meru cabs. Rs 15 per KM, versus Rs 12 for others. What for? A premium is paid for a reason, in this case, there is an implicit assumption that
car will be on time
it will be clean, spacious
drivers will be polite
If #1 itself is not followed, the rest are meaningless.
If the cab cannot come on time, inform early, rather than at the last min.
If the customer has an important appointment, then arrange for analternate cab, perhaps even from another cab company. Thats the way tocustomer delight. Thats the way to retain a customer and ensure that I go out of my way to ask for Meru next time and recommend to others.
Since none of these have been done, I will definitely not use Meru again.
I would ask all readers to try your luck with another cab company. These guys are useless.
