Perpetrators of shockingly bad service, Meru stood us up twice in one night. We had booked a cab well in advance, and had received a confirmation sms from them as well.
When we called the driver assigned to us, 5 minutes before his supposed arrival time, he merrily informed us that he and his cab were heading towards the airport. Seriously, Meru? Even a bad date usually calls to cancel.
So we called Meru to give them a good piece of our collective minds - and Id loved to have offered them the business end of a flying palm as well, considering I was inexcusably late for an important engagement because of their ineptitude - but they apologised profusely(of course) and insisted that this was an isolated incident that would never repeat itself(perish the thought!).
And what do you know - the return cab we had booked with Meru for the VERY SAME NIGHT didnt show up either! This was at 11.30 pm, and my friends and I - all girls - were stranded with no cab to transport us safely back home.
Incensed, we called Meru, and they did the profuse apology routine they must have down pat by now, and assured us that they had deployed their most reliable driver, who would reach us within the next 20 minutes.
He reached at 1.30 am.
Meru employees, I ask you: How do you stand the indignity of working at a dishonest, badly run establishment? Is it really that hard to have simple systems and processes put in place to ensure that everyone with a confirmation does, indeed, receive the services they are promised? Even a toddler will tell you that if you have five cars and six people looking for a ride, one of them will have to be turned down. Is it really that hard to do the math?
Here, let me help: 6-5=GO BACK TO SCHOOL, YOU WITLESS, MOUTH-BREATHING GOONS.
I read in a review that your process is thus: Confirm nearly all incoming requests, only serve those that will make you the most money. No cancellations. Or at best, verylastminute cancellations, if youre feeling extra-jolly.
Heres a thought - what if someone books a Meru cab for an important hospital visit? Youd confirm and never show up? Your cavalier attitude could send you to hell in a handbasket, Meru, and I hear those things never cancel.
"Rely on us" indeed. I suppose the ".to ruin your perfectly planned evening" trailing bit didnt fit within the confines of their logo.
Meru has elevated terrible service to a high art form. Take my advice kids, stay away from Meru. And drugs. In that order.
