I had a really bad experience with Meru web booking system. It has happened to me, the second time today.
I would have missed my flight today if I hadnt called the Meru customer service. I booked the cab online yesterday night from Adugodi to Airport. I thought I would be able to save some money if I booked the cab online as they charge Rs50 extra on phone booking. When I was entering my details online, it had ask me to enter my email and phone number. I got the login password via email and I logged in to the site using the password sent by them.
I filled out the other information like the pickup location and other things. When I hit the "BOOK!" button it gave me a confirmation number. I thought I would get a call from Meru customer service confirming my booking. Till next morning I didnt get a call from Meru so I called up the customer service asking about the status of my booking. The customer service rep told me that they dont have my booking. I told the guy to check again with my phone #, he checked again and confirmed that I dont have a booking with them. After telling them all the story they would keep repeating the sentence like a broken record that " You can go online and book if you dont want to pay the Rs. 50 surcharge or I can book your cab now with the Rs. 50 extra.
It looks like MERU DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS WHO BOOK ONLINE. Their online booking has failed me twice. So, this time I ask the rep to transfer me to someone like his Manager. The guys transferred me to a Lady who was really rude. She wont even listen to what ever I had to say. Just like the rep with whom I was speaking earlier, she kept on repeating that I can book the cab online or she can transfer me to the booking department were I can book the cab with Rs. 50 extra. I can pay Rs. 50 extra and book the cab over the phone.
But, the question here is the reliability of the cab service. If Meru expects us to book the cabs online, we also expect Meru to send us the cab in time. If the cab doesnt come in time there is no way we can go to airport which is really far from the city, if you dont have a car of your own.
I wouldnt have mind that much if Meru had called me and informed me that their cabs are notAvailable in that time. That way we would have been able to make other arrangement without much tension.
So, to sum up MERU IS NOT RELIABLE AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY DON"T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER WHO BOOKS THE CAB ONLINE. Its time to teach them a lesson, so I would like to request eveyone not to use the Meru cabs.
