I wish I knew how to get this message communicated to the leadership team of Meru Cab (Mr.Rajesh Puri, Mr. Neeraj Gupta, etc). Even after so many reviews about the same poor level of service, no steps towards improvement seem to have been taken!
Earlier Easy Cabs used to suck big time in their service and one could really rely on Meru, but for the past few months, Meru cabs has lost all its reliability!
The following incident didnt happen to me for the first time, but I have reached my tolerance level, and hence this review (with a hope that it will somehow make its way to the so called leadership team!)
Yesterday, on Sept 15 morning, I had used Meru Cabs website to book a cab for the same day evening at 6 pm from my home to IndiraNagar. I got a confirmation SMS and email saying that my booking is confirmed and that I will get the cab details 20 mins before the pick up. At 5:45pm, since I had not got any message from their end, I checked the website, and to my shock, it showed CANCELLED. NOW, MERU CAB WILL DECIDE WHETHER I WANT THAT CAB OR NOT AND NOT EVEN BOTHER TO INFORM ME ABOUT THE CANCELLATION!!
I called up their customer care (or lack of it!) number and was told that there was a technical snag in the cab and that I will have to wait for 1 hour to get another cab!! NOW, WHY WASNT THIS COMMUNICATED TO ME WELL IN ADVANCE (AT LEAST 30 MINS BEFORE!!) and IF I HAVE BOOKED A CAB FOR 6pm, I WOULD NEED IT AT THAT TIME and NOT 1 HOUR LATER!!
What followed was a total waste of time and effort for me, as the stubborn and extremely rude field agents just refused to accept their mistake and provide me with an alternative. They even went to the extent of telling a lie that they called me and I did not pick up the phone!! WHY WOULD I SPEND MONEY IN CALLING THEM IF THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED ME INFORMING ME ABOUT THIS DECISION OF THEIRS!! I wish I could show them my phone bill to prove that I did not get a single call from them!
Anyways, after that I just did not think it was worth spending even 1 minute of my time talking to these jokers! It was important for me to get to my destination on time and it was very clear that they did not want to honor their commitment to me, maybe because it was a shorter distance travel (vis-a-vis the airport). BUT IN THAT CASE, THEY SHOULD HAVE REFUSED THE BOOKING AT THE VERY BEGINNING, SAYING THAT WE ONLY TAKE AIRPORT PICK UP AND DROPS. WHY DO THEY HAVE TO SEND MASS SMSs SAYING USE MERU FOR TRAVEL WITHIN THE CITY!!
The funniest part is, I have already given them proper feedback twice and all that they do is call me and ask what happened and give the same, scripted response all the time!! By that time, I dont even see a point in telling them what happened, coz I know all that they are going to do is - CONTINUE THEIR SHAM!!
Based on the other reviews that I have seen on this website(and the incidents that I have heard from my friends), I am sure there are other people who are facing similar kind of harassment! I think it is time for the leadership team at Meru Cab to wake up and take notice of what the customer is saying rather than have the field agents force their decisions on the customer.
