Linkin Park keeps rolling

After the consecutive success of Hybrid Theory and the remix album Re-animation, Linkin Park has come back to dish out another great Alternative Metal album (I think I got the genre right :S). This album contains a great mix of conventional metal music with ’’electronica’’ from Joseph Hahn, to get a combination of Reanimation and Hybrid Theory. The result is fantastic.

The album starts out with the ’’instrumental’’ piece Foreward. This song contains no words, it is basically a trance concoction of Joe Hahn, I’d guess. Here are my basic reviews of each song:

  1. Foreward (10/10) - This is a great song to start off with. I can listen to it over and over again. A few times. :P

  2. Don’t Stay (10/10) - This song has a great tune and beat, with a final blend of good https://lyrics. I especially like the chorus and the opening guitar riff.

  3. Somewhere I Belong (9/10) - The first few times I heard this song, I was addicted. However, the chorus can get a little annoying. It is still a great song, and a great single! Great guitar sounds.

  4. Lying From You (7/10) - This song starts out much faster and it has much more rap than the other songs on this album. It isn’t that addicting, though.

  5. Hit The Floor (7/10) - A more conventional metal song, with a distorted opening. It then goes into a mix of rap and synthesizer sounds? Okay chorus.

  6. Easier To Run (8/10) - Chester Bennington sings much more in this song. The chorus sounds a little strange, but it is overall quite listenable. It is much more melodic a song.

  7. Faint (8/10) - This song uses a strange instrument in the background, I believe it is some sorta stringed instrument. The chorus is GRRREAT.

  8. Figure.09 (7/10) - Doesn’t make itself too unique in any way. It sounds much like some of the other songs.

  9. Breaking The Habit (8/10) - I quite like this song. It has good vocals and a good chorus. It is a little more softer than the other songs, though.

  10. From The Inside (can’t comment) - I haven’t heard this one yet :P.

  11. Nobody’s Listening (8/10) - This song uses a flute in the background (or some sorta wind instrument) and it shows how Linkin Park are trying to extend their musicality. I would call this a rap song.

  12. Session (6/10) - Just an instrumental piece, not as good as foreward. I’d be compelled to say that LP were just trying to fill up some space.

  13. Numb (can’t comment) - I haven’t heard this one yet, either.

That’s it, I’d rate this album a 8/10, because during the middle the songs sound a little repetitive. Otherwise, it’s a great effort.

Linkin Park is made up of Mike Shinoda (vocals, song-writing), Chester Bennington (vocals), Brad Delson (guitar), Phoenix (bass), Rob Bourdon (drums) and Joseph Hahn (DJ).
