Hats off to these guys for believing that cutting prices are the best way to sell cars. The Indian consumer has never had it so good, very true, but what car salesmen need to understand is that while they face hordes of casual, serious, callous and all breeds of buyers, it is a big decision for a prospect since it is a one car she/ he has been saving up for, and is a big step in her/ his life.
I was horrified by the attitude of the sales guys at the dealership, who, when probed for a deal on the car, said that selling cars was like selling ration for them, which unfortunately was not so for me (i had been saving up to buy a car for a year!).
Notwithstanding this, I still persisted on pushing forward a deal with them, but was not sure whether I should buy the Flair or the 1.6 (though my budget was the former). I requested them for a test drive to decide, for which the salesman promised to send across to my residence (exactly 4 kms away from the showroom) in two hours. It has been 5 days since he has even called me, and I already have my new car delivered by its competitive dealer!
