My recent experience at Mewari Thali Restaurants in Panchwati, Udaipur, was nothing short of regrettable. Despite the allure of an authentic Mewar thall, the overall dining experience left much to be desired.
Lets start with the ambiance. The restaurants setting felt lackluster and unappealing. There was nothing that reflected the rich culture and heritage of Mewar, which one would expect from a place serving traditional Mewari cuisine.
The service was incredibly disappointing. The staff seemed disorganized and indifferent. It took an exasperatingly long time for them to attend to our table and even longer to bring the thalis. There was a clear lack of attention to customer needs, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued patrons.
Now, onto the Mewari thali itself. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to its promise. The variety of dishes offered was limited, and the taste was average, at best. The flavors lacked the authenticity and traditional touch that one would expect from a genuine Mewari thali.
The thali presentation was nothing special either. It lacked the artistic appeal and finesse that elevates the dining experience, making it feel like any other run-of-the-mill thali.
The portion sizes were also disappointing. The servings were meager, leaving us feeling unsatisfied and longing for more.
To make matters worse, the pricing of the thall was exorbitant for the lackluster quality and taste of the food, it felt like we were paying a premium for a subpar the experience.
The overall cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant were not up to par. Some areas looked unter , and the hygiene standards were question de, further adding to the disappointment.
