I booked for my family vacation at MGM beach resort chennai. They [ Mr Shanmuga Sundaram] offered me a net rate of 5000 for a suite per day. I booked for 2 days and it was verbal.
When I checked in, I was told that I have confirmed booking for one day and I have to check out at 11am. I said that I dont have any other booking and I am with 2 kids and my wife. They rudely insisted me to checkin only if I agreed to vacate next day at 11 am. they said they would get me accommodation at an other place called beetlewood but I had visited that palce and not liked it.
The room key was not working properly and the whole lock unit was shaking. It looks like the rooms were made in a hurry and it was not good. I asked the room service to fix a bulp which was not working properly. The restaurant is full of tired staff who dont care. They are not at all customer friendly and make us feel bad .
The swimming pool had 3 kids play and that is the only place where my kids had fun for a few mins. I decided to eat out as I had a bad experience during the evening snacks. I got up next morning, finished breakfast and vacated the room. I was charged more and when I insisted to speak to the gentleman [ unprofessional aged man called Shanmuga sundaram, ]
I was asked to wait and I waited for more than 30 mins. the guy at the reception starting making faces and speaking loudly on phone scaring my children. I tried to reach the cell number of Shanmuga and it was forwarded landing that the cell of the guy in the reception.
The other guy who knew about our conversation with Shanmuga flatly denied and said eh did not understand English and whatever we spoke while booking.
My personal visit and booking itself gave me a bitter - bitter experience. I will never ever go to any MGM related resort. let them be happy if they have more business.
