Looking at the alternatives available in the market with better features, this phone dont stand a chance and it was mistake buying this phone for Rs 17, 000.
Cons:
Apart from the big screen and battery, there is nothing in the phone that will make you like it.
- Camera: A 12 mega pixel camera is in the market on almost every phone from past 4-5 years. There is no camera upgrade and its just a standard camera with average quality Photography.
Better cameras are available in phones costing Rs 5000 Lesser than this phone. No Portrait mode available, I mean this is something standard now a days. Features like Slow motion and Time-lapse are added but again, the quality is way better in other phones.
Low lighting pictures has too much noise and are not at all clear.
Resale Value: The resale Value of this phone is not even 40% of the original price. I purchased it for 17000 and no shopkeeper is ready to take it for more than 7000 Rs after 5 months of usage. If I had purchased an Iphone, I would have got a way better deal.
OS issues: I faced issue with my contact list multiple times where the numbers are synced with wrong names. For eg: A contact was saved with the number 123 but it somehow swapped the number with Contact B and now when I call A, the call connects to B. I called MI support and they asked me download a fix. The problem was fixed however, it has occurred 2-3 times even after the patch.
4: Pathetic Support: Till the time you have a basic query, the support agents are fine. I bet, you wont be able to speak to a manager if you ask for. I have stayed in queues to speak to a manager, but I had to give up finally. No call back from MI. Very poor customer service.
5: Sound reception: I am not sure if it is a problem with the phone or the carriers network issue but 7-10 calls are not clear enough.
6: Better Buy OnePlus or Oppo or an used Iphone if your budget is low. But dont go for this device or company.
