I am a big fan of Android OS and was using Google Nexus One made by HTC specially for Google. It has a stock android OS (Gingerbread). So to get another mobile phone it was a foregone conclusion that it should be Android only. After days of research ...I came across this Micromax A 100. It seemed to be good with 1 GHZ Processor & Android ICS and dual SIM.
The phone is good if you are using android for the first time or looking for ICS OS below Rs. 10000. Touch response is slow and so is the Caller ID function. It takes about 4-5 seconds after the ring to display any thing on the screen. The phones Accelerometer response is poor and while rotating the screen a timelag of 2-3 seconds can be felt and so playing motion sensor games would be difficult. The Phone doesn’t have gyroscope support and so Compass function doesnt work making Google Sky Map useless.
Also Google Maps won’t be able to show true north. I have inserted two Sim Cards, In the main UMTS slot I have
inserted BSNL (Gujarat) 3G card and in 2G slot I have inserted AirTel Mumbai Card. But the funniest thing
is that in Gujarat (home network) itself the BSNL Network Logo shows as Idea Up West. Even while manual
searching I am getting the same name. As regards customtakeouter support I called up their helpline and found
one of the rudest behaviour in recent times.
It seems that the customtakeouter Support people wanted to just wash of their hands from any problems. Even BSNL staff is much more courteous and helpful then them. Also on the brochure an email address was given
superfone@micromaxinfo.com but the mail bounces back from this address.
So I would suggest that if you interested in an ICS phone without gyroscope support or not bent on playing motion sensor games and without amoled screen and poor customtakeouter care you can go for it.
