Poor customer support from Micromax Q3 team.

I want to share my experience with respect to the customer support team of micromax. They will never answer your mails once you point out a deficiency in their product. Even if it is a suggestion for improvement they will never acknowledge your feedback.

I had purchased micromax Q3 in Mumbai in Sept 2009. First of all I contacted them 3 times through email as to find out where can I find this mobile. They gave some 2 wholesalers name and number        (that too when I called them) who further referred me to couple of retailers who quoted prices which they liked. Finally, I found this phone at an outlet where you get medium range phones or with outlets where you get china phones or less expensive phones.

The user manual is very short and many functions are not explained properly in depth. The camera quality is VGA type and not even 1.3 mega pixel as the company claims. The sound from the only speaker is good.   The phone many times causes call drop as it is not able to catch signals. This has been checked by using alternative phones like nokia 6600 and sony ericsson K750i. FM quality is satisfactory but it could have been 10 times better.

For e.g. if you want to manually lock and unlock the keypad instead of using autolock, then there is no mention about it . Look at the user manuals of nokia or sony erricsson or LG.

For e.g. if you want to activate area information then you don’t know how to activate it. It is available in simple Nokia 1100 phones.

For e.g. if you want more themes, ringtones then you’ve to depend on 3rd party websites which are prone to virus. There are no themes or ringtones for downloads.

For e.g. if you ask for GPRS, WAP, MMS settings then they don’t bother to provide. This simple thing should be put up on their website with respect to different operators. They can contact all the telecom operators and provide this simple information with respect to their handsets. After all many customers are not that tech savvy.

For e.g. if you’ve to search someone’s name starting from say "S" then the phonebook shows all the entries whose first name or last name starts from "S". This many times causes irritation as you’ve to either be very specific or scroll patiently through the list. The standard is when you press "S" then the phone book should display only those entries whose first name starts with "s" and not the last name.

Overall if you look the package then it looks good. But if you expect any product support from their team then it is very disgusting.   One can evaluate the product at the shop and may be then try it.
