Good phone for less

I bought this cute phone after reading many reviews. Earlier I was using Nokia N72. I had difficulty in using the N72 as it used to hang even when I get a call or want to cut a call.I bought this N72 for around 9K two years back. So this time I decided that I should buy a phone for less than 5K.

Let me start the review with all the bat things in this phone

Sound reception in the phone is quite less. But if you use the hands free set provided in the package, its good

Locking and unlocking the phone is Menu + . The button is placed in middle of the key pad. So to unlock the phone in Dark is quite impossible. Had the key been in the corner this would not have been a problem.

Dual SIM issues: I was using Vodafone connection. Since this was a Dual SIM phone, I purchased Tata Docomo prepaid connection. I inserted Vodafone in SIM 1 and Tata in SIM2. Once Tata got activated phone started hanging. I felt like I was cheated. For a change I interchanged the SIMs and immediately it worked properly.

Opera Mini - This is a great value add for this phone. But as soon as you launch the application, it give a link to upgrade. Don’t even click that link. The latesh version doesnt ’work in this mobile. It says "Failed connecting to internet....."error. If you are getting this error, try to restore factory settings

User manual: This can be called as useless manual. A normal user will get only the basic things from this mobile after seeing this useless manual. But once you start exploring the phone, the user manual is not required.

GPRS - Generally if you change the SIM card to a new GPRS enabled phone, the service providers will send SMS with the settings. For this phone, no service provider identifies this as a GPRS phone I belive. Even after multiple requests, I never got the settings sms. Then I explored the net and manually created the GPRS settings.

Phone book - You can store only one number per contact. You can’t store other details like e-mail etc.

Picture viewing - You can’t open a picture which is of slightly bigger size. This is a bigger black mark on this phone.

Now the good things:

Its stylish. Not only the phone, the leather case is also stylish

The qwerty keypad is awesone. I can send SMSs in tamil with english alphabets (ie. as I talk) in no matter of time. This is the biggest plus.

The best thing about this phone is it never hangs..... If you disconnect the call, it is immediate. Great. I heard from my other friends that not only Nokia hangs , even Sony, Samsung etc hangs

Opera Mini is another great feature.

Nimbuzz - what to say about this....... simplyy suuuuuuuuuperb

Speaker - Though a mono speaker, its quality of output is awesone.

The organiser and calender are very professional.

The headphones are easy to insert unlike the clamp time Nokia stuff.

The phone is basically very fast. I mean the response time on hit of a button unlike my previous N72.

I will definitely recommend to buy this phone to people who are looking for phone less than 5K ans looking for more features.
