Q35 :Good phone , inadequate quality standards

I bought the Micromax Q35 in august 2011 from Big Bazaar, GIP.  Initial experiences with the phone were good. CDMA 2 GSM, qwerty were welcome features. The problem started after a months use of the phone. The charger stopped working. Thought to get in changed in warranty. The service centers are sparsely located. After submission, I had to visit thrice to check for the status of the charger; they do not update via telephone. Next, while charging, the phone says’bad contact of charger’, and stopped charging everytime after a minute or so . Went and gave this again at a different service centre, they kept it for a a month, only to return it in the same condition. Gave it again for repairs, they said battery not able to store power, so we will have to keep the set. They returned a phone with a different IMEI number . When I got back my phone it wasn’t being able to power on. I bought a new battery from the market, and now the phone says’bad contact of charger’.

Another recent development is that it doesn’t catch the 2 GSM networks at the same time . One goes into emergency mode. It is rightly said for such cheap Chinese products- "chale to chaand tak nahi toh raat tak", but I thought Micromax would be different. I was wrong. I would never buy a micromax product again, nor recommend it to anyone.
