Micromax Q7 - A handy phone

Was on the lookout for a cheap but effective phone and stumbled upon Q7. It was a great buy considering the fact that its packed with features like:

  1. QWERTY Keypad

  2. Wi-Fi Enabled

  3. Dual Sim Capable

  4. A 2 Mega Pixel Camera

and a whole lot of general features available in all mobiles.

It really has been working well for me and me being a mobile user who uses mobile mostly to Talk, SMS and browse the web, it has been performing well.

Pros:

  1. Nice Signal Reception and Network Features

  2. Easy to Use Keypad - SMS made easy

  3. Excellent Audio Quality - Both the Audio Player and the Radio

  4. Easy Wi-Fi Browsing

  5. Opera Browser - Built In. Love the browser.

  6. Dual Sim. Easy to switch between 2 networks

  7. Call Recording ability. To listen to your loved ones:)

There are some stuffs to watch out for if you expect more from your phone:

  1. The quality of the images taken from the Camera are not that exceptional(Doesnt signify a 2 MP Quality for sure)

  2. The Phone tends to restart when Java applications are being run.

  3. The phone is not compatible with many of the Java Applications or Games. In fact the Google Website detects the phone as something else rather than MicroMax and its not compatible with Gmail App.

  4. Battery Life isnt that exceptional. Make sure to carry your charger.

  5. The Phone features like Webcam and COM Port are not available when you connect to Windows 7(Havent tried with other Operating Systems).

But for a price less than Rs. 5000, I wouldnt be surprised. This definitely is a buyable phone(atleast as a backup option to your main phone).
