Hyped phone

Hi all,

I had brought this phone last week for Rs.3700/- Here are my findings. Hope they are useful for people who are thinking to buy this phone

The Pros:

====

1) Very good touch response. The touch screen response is quick and instant. No lagging.

2) Yamaha Audio amplifiers. Audio quality is good.

3) Loud audio speaker. Clearly audible.

5) 240 x 320 Pixels screen 256K colour(7.1 cms screen)

6) Good looks.

7) 3.5 mm Audio jack. You can use your favourite headphone.

8) Bluetooth A2DP support.

9) Micro USB charging port.

10) Opera mini preloaded.

11) 5 different coloured changeable back panels

12) Silicon pouch included with the packing.

13) USB cable for PC connectivity included with the pack.

14) Widgets.

The Cons:

====

1) Colour reproduction is not that great. Feels as a bit dull screen.

2) Though it looks good, build quality is average. Feels plasticky.

3) Bundled earphones are not good.

4) The GUI is based on comic based theme. Not at all good and many people may not like the interface. Not at all a good looking theme. Worst part You cannot change the theme and no other themes are provided.

5) No EDGE. Only GPRS.

6) A puny 950 mAh battery.

7) Talk time no more than 2 hours.

8) Strictly very basic dual sim features.

9) Incomplete manual. Does not explain everything.

10) Though profiles are included, changing from General to Silent profile is a nightmare.

11) No SAR information.

12) No multiple desktops. Only one single screen. Though widgets are provided they will only obstruct the screen.

Though the company is advertising as a MTv phone, this is purely a marketing gimmick as it has no relation to MTv. The branding is only to indicate that this is a music phone. Though some MTv content is preloaded in the memory card, it is not that interesting.

Overall though this is a full touch screen phone, it has a very basic features. Apart from the touch screen and the Yamaha Audio amplifier nothing is special about this phone. And if you are not using any second SIM card, the message as "SIM 2 closed." will appear on the screen. No way of removing this. Result- obstruction to your favourite wallpaper(when will the developers understand this?).

Profile changing to Silent mode is a nightmare. There is no way you can switch to silent profile directly. You have to cycle through General then Meeting and then you will get the Silent profile or access the Silent profile directly either through the Profile menu or the Profiles widget.
