MS has taken a big step in the right direction with IE 6. I have yet to find one spyware file using Ad-Aware 4.6 under IE 6. It is also stable. I have ran the program for 2 weeks and it has yet to crash. Also, Outlook Express has a bulit in anti virus feature. I have sent my self several viruses and trojans and Outlook stopped them cold. ( Please, if you send yourself a virus backup and delete your address book first). I run this program under Windows ME on a AMD K6-2 400 machine with 128 mb of ram.
I see all these post from idiots complaining about IE6 .. and I want to smack them. First off.. the bug with Outlook is on Windows 9x ( win95 98 & ME ) OS’s.. I believe if yer running windows 9x, u deserve the bugs you experience! For those who dont know.. Microsoft has stopped making windows 9x because.. well... its COMPLETE GARBAGE! Anyone Running windows 9x should immediately upgrade to windows 2000 or XP(grab xp when it comes out ). Windows 9x is the source of all these bugs you people are experiencing ( and poor device drivers & comflicting software .. though these play a smaller role ). Soon.. Microsoft will not even provide support for windows 9x operating systems.. only windows NT ( win2k/XP ) .. So I suggest you upgrade SOON if u havent yet.. If your running Windows 98 right now.. remember that you are running a 4 YEAR OLD OS.. that would be like running win 3.1 when Windows 98 is out(almost). And windows ME is the worst OS ever writen.. if you run WinME you should just throw out your computer because your too dumb to have one. Anyways, IE6 has the most features of any browser, fairly stable ( considering its beta still ). The only thing that I am not crazy about is the ’’Big Toy buttons’’ that make IE6 look like it was designed for kids ages 5>8 & its poor integration with MSN messenger. If you experience problems.. remember.. ITS BETA.. So dont complain to anyone but Microsoft. If your find a bug.. dont tell us.. tell Microsoft! Thats why they do beta testing people.. not for you to complain to us.. but to complain to Microsoft. To help them make it better. I would NOT recommend upgrading to IE6 , unless you are a advanced user, and dont mind the fact that it might cause you problems. Microsoft doesnt release beta’s to help you, they release betas so you can help them by reporting bugs.
