The 2nd Microsoft branded phone is a eye-catcher, really due to its choice of OS - Windows phone 8.1, and due to the translucent multi-color rear shell options you get with it(each sold separately). But people nowadays dont buy phones for their looks, do they?
Well, this phone comes with a low end quad-core Snapdragon 200(Microsoft! Really?) at its heart, clocked at 1.2 GHz. But I would like to emphasize this fact that Windows phone 8.1 OS is not really a power hungry one and squeezes out as much power as it can from the low end processor. The result - a comparatively smooth performance; if your tasks include editing word documents, some light multimedia and browsing. Well dont expect to play 1080p Full HD videos on it(Since the display is 720p, how much load can the processor take huh?) for it will stutter badly. Neither can you play heavy games on it; for that record it cant even run moderate games like subway surf without lagging every once in a while. So if you narrow it down, Light multimedia and text editing? Yeah, lets hear the price Jack! What did you say? 9000/- INR? Woah! Aint nobody gonna pay that much for this piece of colorful mini jukebox! Atleast I aint!
Yeah also the phone can only support upto 3G networks in an era where 20mbps is the base speed for users, so what you gonna do?
Also the Windows ecosystem does not have that huge catalogue of apps which Android and iOS have, yeah just the common set of apps - WhatsApp, FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc. They even dont get the fast updates that other ecosystems get.
So if you are thinking of getting this, you either must be some loco or in some Windows phone cult; I dont know. But trust me I owned this phone for a year out of curiosity and it still is the worst decision of spending 11000 bucks(That was its price then) . Do yourself a favor and save yourself the misery!
