That is what Microsoft Netmeeting 3 should be renamed.
Honestly.
if you have not ever used it, that is exactly what it is being used for.
Its a live, real-time conferencing facility that allows people anywhere in the world to chat and see each other via web cams.
The trouble is, it is used by a lot of strange people for a lot of strange things.
If you are open minded and fancy a bit of a laugh (oh, and over 18) you should give it a try for a laugh.
The way it works is this...
The different users log onto a central server via their own computers.
You set up your own profile details on your set up, put your camera in position and log on.
You open the application and select a server to log on to.
There are many servers around the world to which you can log on. Simply search the web with a search engine for
’’new Netmeeting servers’’
and you are bound to be give about 20 or so to choose from.
Once logged in, you can choose DIRECTORY from your menu.
This will show you who is logged in, their names and where they are from.
Be prepared to see some rather alarming names describing who they are and what they are doing!

It also shows you 2 little sybols. A speaker and a camera.
If the person has these by their name, they have both capablities. If they have neither you wont be able to see them or hear them.
Now, the people are strange and will offer many things such as my title. I kept it as clean as possible but they are far worse on line.

If you are up for a bit of fun and you have a few mates over, its worth logging on just to remind you no matter how wierd things are getting, there are stranger people in the world than your peers!
We tried it a few times and got some very strange people on cam!
Dont take this too seriously though. If you are offended or you have children around, steer clear or set up a family server for them to use. There are some out there. The trouble is, its not very well policed so you may end up with someone a bit unsavoury on cam.
My advice is to not let children use it.
Have a laugh yourself but just as that.
