I had heard a lot about the online version of Mid-Day - Chalo Mumbai AND I thought of giving it a try. It took 8 minutes and 3 refreshes in order to download completely and this was on a broadband connection. I wonder if people using 56k connection even get to view the page.
Once the page has loaded, the columns to the left are not organized at all. It is supposed to be a NEWS-Info site and the very first topic of the column is ’Bollywood’. The next few are not pleasing either being ’Bombay Basics’, ’Eating Out’ etc. What if I am looking for breaking news? What about archives? There are huge banner ads on the top of teh page which makes the time to load the page higher.The columns to teh left were not organized and I felt lost after I visited the site. All the site offers is some breaking news which I can easily find on other faster sites. Update the layout ChaloMumbai or you can only dream of being as popular as the paper version.
