I have been a Gelato fan for more than a decade now and have had Gelato whenever I run into a parlour whichever part of the world I am in . Have had it in many countries and believe me when I say this Milano is the best Gelato I have had anywhere. I walked in the door of the Milano on their very first day of business which was a couple of years back and have been going there ever since. Milano is run by an Italian couple who exported coir products from Kochi to Italy and when downturn came decided to run a Gelatin business from Kochi. Best way for them to say thank you to Kochi.
They also have amazing Sorbets and Ice cream cakes.
Gelato is much lighter than traditional ice cream which means you do not feel heavy, post a couple of scoops.
The parlour itself is well lighted, tastefully furnished and cheery. They have two shops now in Kochi that I know of - One at Ravipuram next to Silk Air office & Shell Petrol pump and the second on Kaloor Kadavanthara road, close to Well Mart.
My only complaint with Milano after so many visits is that they do not serve coffee. A cup of gelato chased by some strong black coffee is my idea of foodie heaven.
