The book is quite addicting to read (hard to put down and go to work or anywhere else for that matter!). It is quite candid and funny but drags on in the lengthy explanations where the author pulls out his own toe nails/finger nails and his codependent relationship with this girl during recovery. (A couple months after the book was out on the bookstands the author, James Frey, stated that he lied on a few parts of his book...) Apparently there was some big thing about him showing up on the Oprah show and she was choked because he embarassed her with the parts of falsification in his book. Who cares really! At least most of the book was true and it was an awesome read. It is a great book for young adults because it opens their eyes on how short life really is and how drinking/drugs can really shorten it and relationships. It also gives a good message on making healthy attachments by renewing ties with family and friends instead of continual sabotaging.
