The Ministry of Foreign Affairs or MEA(External Affairs), as we all know, is a very important ministry. They control so many departments that it boggles the mind. I am going to talk only of the Passport department.
Has anyone tried to get a passport made from any small city passport office? If they have, then they know how difficult the whole process is. One has to have the patience of Mahatma Gandhi, the attrition of the Indian armed forces or the economic force of the Birlas to get a Passport. In this day and age of automation, it takes these guys 3 months just to post a letter and if one has to stand in line for any kind of inquiry, then God and the Devil both need to help.
I don’t understand why this procedure cannot be streamlined. We need to get together, all of us, and protest to the authorities that they need to do something about their RPOs. In the meantime, good luck to anyone trying for a passport without going through touts, hassles, questions and no answers etc. Hang in there.
