Yahoo website blocked

NEW DELHI: The department of telecom (DoT) has decided to block a Yahoo
website for refusing to comply with a government request to withdraw
’objectionable’ news material. The website (Groups.yahoo.com/groups/kynhun) was blocked because it was ’’promoting anti-national news and containing material against the government of India and state government of Meghalaya.’’
The blocking was done on the instructions of Indian Computer Emergency
Response Team, (CERT-In), which falls under the department of information
technology (DiT), the government said on Monday. It said that this was the first time that a website was blocked under CERT, since it was formed in July. ’’The representatives of Yahoo in India were requested to remove the objectionable material from the reference, however they declined to comply with the request, ’’ said the statement.
There couldn’t have been a better decision to prove that we are just the biggest facade in the name of DEMOCRACY.
This is like killing a rabbit with a nuclear bomb because CERT just found out that the rabbit is spreading disease. It doesn’t matter if the whole wildlife is destroyed.
By this logic we should probably close down all hospitals and open up execution facilities all over India. The moment we find that somebody is infected with a contagious disease we should simply execute it (man or animal).
I am sure that there are many other things that can be done in this regard like getting the details of the people operating over the group or cracking down on groups which are specifically involved in such activities.
I am sure that government has stock of at least some intellectuals who can fight such a propoganda by creating more informed JUNTA??!!!
I am amazed to see such a large number of people actually supporting the decision to block these groups.
Guys believe me.... if we do not raise a voice against this right now.... the government will close down and quiten every voice against its interests.
It is disgusting how the government bodies can take such repulsive actions in the name of national security. If you want so much of National Security then just say publicly that Democracy is dead and we are living under Emergency or Facist Rule ??? !!!
DEMOCRACY IS BASED ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT PEOPLE ARE FREE TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES..... RIGHT OR WRONG HAS TO BE DECIDED BY THE PUBLIC AND NOT A SINGLE BODY CONTROLLED BY VESTED INTERESTS!!!!
