MIOT - Still The PRIDE of Chennai

It was my first visit ever to a hospital. Last month my friend and I traveling intensively in motor bike to invite our friends for his wedding and one day it was about 1 am when we returned from pondicherry after inviting our college friends. We were knocked down by rash driven lorry near Alexander square, where there were no one to help. My friend was very severely injured and myself with mild injuires.

So I tried stopping vehicles passing by for help and finally a autowala stopped and he asked me to call “10 57 10” saying that its accident help line. I dialed that no. without any hope, as we all know about our free help line services. But to my surprise, my call was picked up in the very first ring and I came to know that it belongs to MIOT Hospitals emergency rescue services. The one who picked up was very professional and asked for details of accident without wasting the time (He asked the venue, landmark, condition of patients, blood loss, blood group, etc) and instructed me certain first aid measures to do for my friend. Within a span of 5 minutes, MIOT ambulance had arrived with all facilities and once my friend is shifted into the ambulance, they had started the treatment (I have to definetly make a comment on their ambulance, it was damn good with all possible equipment). When the ambulance was speeding towards the hospital, I was really worried about the advance they r going to demand. I hardly had Rs.200/- in my pocket after our trip to several destinations. Anyhow I thought of informing his parents, who lives at Madurai.

Before I could come to a conclusion, we have reached the hospital and on seeing the building I was really shocked and thought for sure, they will send the patient back, if I tell them that I have only 200/-. But an emergency team was waiting in the emergency, and the procedure they follow to treat a trauma case was really in par with international standards I should say. The most important thing is no body in emergency had asked about any advance till my friend is stabilised. Once every necessary things are done, then I was asked whether we would like to continue the treatment there or would like to shift my friend some where else. On seeing their way of handling the patients, I decided that this the right place on the earth to get my friend admitted. Then I told them that I have only 200/- and requested them to admit my friend. They smiled and said that there is a standing instruction in their hospital, that they should not demand any payment for first 24 hours for any emergency cases.

I was really happy on hearing that and informed his parents and in a weeks time my friend was shifted to wards and discharged very soon, with a very reasonable bill when compared with any other big hospitals. He is now getting ready for his wedding and had called the entire emergency team of MIOT Hospitals as most wanted guests.

The reason for writing this review is, I was surprised to see some reviews posted against MIOT Hospitals, which I strongly don’t believe. We were there in MIOT for more than 15 days and we were taken care very well right from the security till the ayahs. We also had seen doctors coming to hospital at 5 am and leaves by 6pm, and staff with good dedication.
