!! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - ITS A BIG ENTERTAINER !!

Its 9:05 and show was at 9:30 and the hall was 10 kms away from my home. Add to it signals and traffic he had to tackle and he had to fill the petrol too, on the way. Oh yes, I forget, there’s no advance booking done and add to it the time for parking and buying ticket. And he was to watch only if he could find himself at his seat before the Censor Certification appears on the screen. Does it seem realistic? NO, considering, his life’s not a movie and he’s no Ethan Hunt; it was a Mission Impossible. He reached at 9:45, very discouraged, and still accomplished the mission, or should I say it got accomplished on its own, as the movie hasn’t begun yet. Infact it started on 10:00. What a Joke!

Yes, the person in question is me and the movie was ‘Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol’.

Coming to the plot: It starts in Budapest with IMF agent, Trevor, successfully intercepting a courier and getting hold of a secret file - having details of Cobalt -but only to die at the hand of an assassin, Moreau, and lose the file to her. Trevor’s companions, agents Jane and Benji, are then given the task of helping Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) flee from the Jail in Mascow.(1st thrilling act) Ethan and others are then given the mission to locate the secret file in Moscow Kremlin archives. In kremlin, Ethan finds things already staged for them, as someone informs Russians of IMF involvement and also bombs the Kremlin Archives and makes it look like IMF’s with Ethans presence as proof.

Ethan identifies Cobalt as Kurt Hendricks, a Swedish-born Russian nuclear strategist who wants to bring the end of world by starting a war between Russia and US. He has already succeeds in blowing Kremlin(to drive Russia mad); his next move is to launch a Russian missile on US. He has already acquired a Russian nuclear launch-control device. What he needs now is its access code Marau is going to deliver him in Dubai. And Dubai is where the mission impossible really starts leading to Mumbai as the final destination.

Can Ethan and party - having already lost the support of US government with suspension of IMF and with Russian force behind them – stop Cobalt in his mission of bringing the world to its end? They have No Plan, No Backup and No Choice; can they do it on their own? That’s what rest of ‘Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ is all about.

I haven’t seen MI1 and MI3, but I have seen MI2 and it was too good, be it action or the plot or the performances it scored in all zones; so expectations were high from MI4 and it delivered them all .... BIG TIME. Right from the very first frame to the very last one I was at the edge of my seat and totally awed by the visuals as well as plot. Action is super class, esp. the scene where Tom has to literally dangle and climb outside the windows from 140th floor of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, it‘s simply Awesome. It’s an achievement that he has done all his actions himself t at the age of 50, he looks younger too.

This spy story starts on HIGH in Budapest - Jail Scene, Kremlin’s Archive infilteration gadgets they use is to good to believe. Then it moves on to VERY VERY HIGH in Dubai - Whole Burj Khalifa scene is keeps you at your tose, Sand storm is beautifully shot, and the chase in gripping. Fianlly it comes back to HIGH in Mumbai - Ethan’s speeding car in Mumbai’s traffic, Gorgeous Jane seducing BrijNath, final fight sequcne in a Multi storey Parking lot is good to watch. The transition back to High is somewhat disheartening. There is no low at any moment in it.

Tom Cruise as Ethan is charismatic and impressive as always, his carrier will definitely find a new breather after this movie. He carries the movie on his shoulder all the time and is good to watch. Paula Patton as Jane Carter is bold and beautiful and leaves a good impression; her stunts and the way she looks, gorgeous, in the party in Mumbai are both stunning. She will definitely gain a lot from MI4. Simon Pegg as Benji, brings the humor factor very well. Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker) as William Brandt (another IMF agent) is good. Anil Kapoor is wasted, not sure why he took the role. Other than this technology is the biggest and best hero of this movie, be it the gadgets or the weapons all adds to make the viewer overwhelmed. Music I found a bit low in comparison to MI2 that the only low I could find.

No thriller action movie can work without a plot that can thrill a viewer all through, not just the start and climax, but all the time; and action that can chill a viewer. ‘Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ has a brilliant plot at its base that keeps a viewer glued to his/her seat and action is so awesome that it makes a viewer bite his/her nail. So what are you waiting for; book you ticket at earliest and have a chilling and thrilling time in your nearest Cinema Hall? Sooner the better.
