I had been to this resort in Dec 06 which is situated on the foothills of Kakkabe, which is approximately 50 Kms from Mercara and found it to be an extremely beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by dense forest and Coffee estates. The nearest points are Virajpet , 30 Kms and Mercara 50 kms. This resort is located at a remote place and conveyance is a big problem. Should venture only if you have your own vehicle. There is though a cab (Jeep) service provided by Misty Woods resort but it is expensive.
The cottage’s (approximately 10) are well maintained and have a friendly staff. There is a waterfall which falls in the premises of the resort. Approximately 5 min’s from the resort is the Coorg Palace which is a place of tourist interest. There is a restaurant which is equipped with TV and serve good food. Amazingly there is Airtel Network which will keep you connected with your material world. The resort has not got much of publicity as the channels (Web, Travel agent etc) are not very effective.
Some of the celebrities that have been to Misty woods are Anil Kumble, Priyadarshan. Overall a beautiful, calm place which is reasonably priced as well. The facilities include, Restaurant, Badminton court, Base ball, Carrom (Swimming pool and Billiards is upcoming).
