To all those who think its a laugh riot aka bheja fry, please dont be misguided by the promos or the critics review. It is not. Though I am mad on the movies ad company for failing to project the movie truthfully & creating a false impression in the mind of the movie goers.
The story is perversely similar to Don, just more complex & sad (tragic int he end & I always hate sad endings). I do not want to pay 150 bucks to go & see reality--I see it everyday. I goto a move theater to get a break from the boring monotony of life & get my moneys worth. There is no surprise here that the script was left pending for 8 yrs due to lack of producers.
The pity is that all the actors were marvellous, scenes were beautifully directed, emotions were real & natural & you almost feel sorry for VK. For loving the Dons kids as his own, because thats what he thinks he is when he wakes up from an accident & the cruel way he is separated from them later. I found it difficult to relate to Sonams loyalty towards VK that too when she pulled him into all this mess & kept him tied to it & then suddenly leaves everything behind to help him & is murdered by the don in the end.
My alst word, I like johnny gaddar much much more although it had a real shocking & tragic end. why
1) it glued me to my seat with anticipation of what next
2) I fnd the characters more real & honest
3) it was no comic fare but the thrill was there.
