I have been owning a Mitsubishi lancer since 1999 and have been experiencing severe mileage problems. The Car gives only on an average 6.5 to 7.2 Kms/lit. I have taken it several times to the authorised service centre and the reply has always been poor driving procedure or some lame reasons. I also own a Hyundai Accent and this gives me 14.7 to 15.2 Kms/lit. How can the same bad driving procedure make no difference to an Accent?
The car also has a bad door closing heavy metallic sound. Comapre it with the Accent or Ikon - you will know. The suspension goes almost flat in 6 months even with careful driving. Let me remind you, I am alover of Cars and handle them like a Baby.
On the whole for the price you pay thare are better Cars at lower prices. Let me tell you a secret as well. Mitsubishi Lancers are available abroad and I have driven one for quiet some time when I used to work out of India. That car is different. Has HM Mitsubishi Lancer done gross errors in Indegenisation. I strongly feel so. Take my word I still own a Lancer here in India.
But I tell if you are looking for a Glamour Car and status symbol, this is the right one at that price bracket though at higher brackets the Sonata & Honda Civic and of course the Indian Merc are far apart.
