Straight to Mars!

Foreword

I have been using this phone for the last two years (now I have a Motorola T190 and this is being used by my girl friend now). I am thoroughly satisfied by the signal reception and the audio clarity of this phone. Though its a bit bulky, it fits snugly into my shirt pocket (and also into the wallets!). The battery life is also good and I have not changed the original battery till now.

Intro

Though considered to be in the lower end segment in India, this phone definitely ranks on top of the other handsets I have seen (especially the Nokia 3xxx series!). Though I am unaware of the new features of this model (I heard that this model is now available again!), I am thoroughly satisfied with this performance.

Features

Which of the present day phones can boast of WAP? Even my present T190 does not have WAP facility, which is available in my good old Mars. Add to that the easy accessible menus, vibrator mode, games, total phone book solution, changeable panels, different good ring tones (composer was unknown in those days!).

Problem I faced

Got drenched in the rain and the phone was messed up. Spent nearly Rs. 1000 on getting it fixed as the handset was only 3 months old when this happened! After service, the call end button was not working for quite some time and I decided to throw this into the bin when a friend of mine suggested that this can be rectified. And it was finally done at a cost of Rs. 225, including a new panel and Keypad. During this time I had already purchased the T190 and I gave this to my girl, who is still using it without any problems!

Cost

Cost wise, when I got this phone, I paid about Rs. 3000, which was a good buy. The panels cost about Rs. 80 to 100 in the market and come with a new Key Pad.
