Dependable Packers and Movers, may not the best

Recently i’ve used MM packers & movers for a bangalore local shifting, based on my friend’s recommendation. I was skeptical about the service, though I saw positive feed back on these people becoz it was my first time local shifting. Anyway, I went ahead and asked Abhilash to quote the price based on the items i’ve. He suggested 3200/- package would be fine for me. He also told he would send Tata 307 or 407 vehicle for shifting. And if 2nd trip is required, it will be done@ half of the price. I Ok’ed for the price and vehicle, without much prior knowledge and went ahead to booked their service. Here comes the fateful day, when we had to do actual shifting.

I try to put my experience in various parts to show the things what they are:

-   Reception: Delivery people came prompt at mentioned time. And brought so many boxes, tools and packing material with them. But I was worried on seeing the vehicle, whether I can fit all of luggage there? [they brought TATA EX307]

  • Packing: Delivery people started packing hurriedly, and we were also giving some helping hand by arranging clothes etc., by ourselves. They were doing their packing also at their pace. Finally packing was completed in 2-3 hours.

  • Loading: Now comes the toughest task. Field staff try to arrange all cartons and small items first into the vehicle they brought. They keep bigger items like TV, Double Cot, Fridge, Washing Machine till last. After they started loading, 2 out of 4 deliver persons were whispering among themselves that they need 2nd trip becoz all the bigger items are still not loaded. But they had one field supervisor, who was very helpful towards customtakeouter(not towards their business owner) and attempted to push all items into single trip only, to avoid 2nd trip. He, himself took so much care to balance all the items into single trip, in spite of his fellow staff were asking for 2nd trip. Because they will get double the loading/unloading wages from their owner, for same house shifting.

But this field supervisor was our saviour and insisted on single trip only. And he suggested some glass items to be brought on our own, as it may not have sufficient space and may break down if tucked in. I understood and agreed to carry those delicate items of 1 small box, with me in our vehicle.

  • Transportation: There was 1 person standing on backside of the vehicle to make sure nothing falls from vehicle onto road. Other than, nothing else to mention.

  • Unloading: As Our house shifting was done in second part of day, they hurry to dump all your things at your new house and rush away. So to our badluck, 1 or 2 delivery people made some boxes upside down. So oil etc., were leaked out. Though, there was no serious damage done to our stuff, I feel this is unprofessional. Other than this, their service is not bad and I felt  they were good as it was my first experience with any packers and movers.

  • Payment: Final part is settling the money. As I felt satisfied with their service, I paid some tip also in addition to agreed amount. I could have avoided paying tips, but I felt it was OK to give these people who put their lot of labour to carry our household items with almost 0% damage. Daily we are forced to pay hefty money to unfair Autowalas, Grocery shops etc., why not these people who sweat so much for our purpose. They also took my feedback on some form they brought with them.

Overall I am a satisfied customtakeouter, but I would suggest you to take care below if you have to use MM or any packers and movers:

  • Ask what is final price, including all taxes, insurances etc., at the time of your quotation itself.

  • Make sure someone from their office come to your home and estimate the size of vehicle you require. But MM packers and movers settled over phone for my case and I feel it was not a good practice

  • Tell them, how you want your utensils, oil etc., to be packed. Instead of putting oil cans in carton boxes, ask them to put in plastic containers i.e. used for daily products.

  • Be there near vehicle, while they are loading.

  • Be ready to carry most delicate items with you, than asking them to put into a van which goes over bumpy roads.

  • Understand majority of Field staff are daily wage earners, so they expect higher money for their service. So be supportive, but reduce your expense wisely. Your arrogance may bring unnecessary troubles to you by causing more damage to your items.

  • Remember, the so called insurance provided for these luggage shiftings is 100% wastage.  It won’t bring back any 1/- lost from your items. And you are not crazy to run around packers&movers and  insurance company for 1k - 5k for years.

MM Packers and Movers may not be 100% professional and best, but reliable and dependable. They don’t cheat you on timings, charges, other operations. They are affordable, if you take proper care [i might be lucky in this]
