I had heard things about MMTC SHowroom and praise that the products are cheaper and the staff is better. But one visit dispels all these myths.
To begin with, this showroom is open only on Monday to Friday at 10 to 5. So office goers can bid this goodbye unless your office is in Bandra Kurla Complex.
I went there on 05 Oct . I expected that since festival season is in, the showroom will be bustling with customers and staff will be courteous helpful.
What I found was a hol.e in the wall showroom and a few stray overpriced baubles. There were medallions in the denomination of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 gms of gold.
There was only a sole lady manning the whole showroom and she was somewhat harried. The showroom had a PC and printer. But I brought a 1 gm gold coin at Rs.1725/- and I was told that there was no change. The lady had to summon a watchman and bring change. Despite having a PC and printer, I was given a handwritten bill.
Well, in all the staff (the sole lady) behaviour was OK. But what was perplexing that they neither keep change nor sufficient variety for attracting customers.
So if you want to test someone’s patience, send him to this showroom.
