Great food at good value

We went to Mocambo’s after many years. Under the old management, we would go there for a quick bottle of beer and munchies. Since th new management took over this was my first visit. The mezzanine floor was our destination and it has been done up very well and air conditioned. The ambiance is very relaxing and the company good. The menu was what took me by surprise. The amazing continental variety was a breath of fresh air amongst all the ’seafood’, the ’chinese’ and ’south Indian’ restaurants in the area. The focus was on meats. Rack of Lamb, Pork Chops and Schnitzels. I have to confess at this point that I am a strict vegetarian. Yes, yes, I know... How can a Bawa be a vegetarian? Been this way since birth. Cannot help it.   But the Wife is a certified carnivore and she whooped with joy after taking one peek at the menu. The customary mug of beer later, we were both tucking into some good food. I with my three cheese pasta and she with her Schnitzel and mash potatoes(which btw were also delicious).   The service was attentive and efficient. The portion sizes were adequately large and good value for the money. We walked out of the restaurant, a half ’g’ lighter and a few kgs heavier than what we had walked in. Simply divine!
