Hey Guys, I am quite a regular at Mocambos, at the outset, the place is a very easy going, non-fancy, no non-sense restaurant that can boast of some excellent pork chops. The wine list is impressive and for those of you who wanna become amateur wine tasters this is a good place to start. Since one does not need to buy the entire bottle, its easy on your pockets as well.
The peach ice tea is amazing and going by the cliche bond line shaken not stirred, I have found very few restaurants preparing ice tea in this fashion, although I must confess the bar tender is kind of finicky, you may get it shaken one day and stirred the next.. its best to specify how u want your drink, here.
The service is a tad bit slow, but the food offsets the wait... and with a mezzanine floor, Im sure the stewards are constantly on their toes. Not to mention the the lady(owners wife) that oversees the daily happenings.
Speaking of food, well its pretty similar to Cafe Churchchill in Colaba, since both the joints are run by the same people, I guess, although Mocambos is a lot cleaner.
However, for all you couch potatoes, u may have to psyche yourself to get off the sofa and drive down to this place as home delivery has its limits and the staff seems pretty reluctant at times to deliver, wonder if its becos of the rising fuel cost????
All in all, I give the place a 6/10. MOCAMBO DEFINITELY KHUSH HUA!!!!!!
