Coffee n Conversations: I used to vist Mocha ( Churchgate branch) when it went by the name of Coffee n conversations. Back then it was a nondescript little joint with quick, friendly service. Secondly, the decor looked less choreographed than what it is today. I would frequent it with friends to unwind, hold profound conversations and be where the in crowd did not not care to be. I liked the simplicity of the place. There was something really earthy about it.
Mocha Cafe: Anyways, about the new Mocha Cafe. I frequent the Bandra outlet a lot maybe cause I live in Bandra and prefer it to Cafe Coffee day, Barista and JRTC. The ambience is nice. I like the somewhat archaic furniture which keeps changing every few days, cause people buy the peices if they take a fancy. I usually look forward to discovering the new additions. The Juhu outlet has this really cosy little seat above a pond that can accomodate at least 20 people. Its nice to celebrate your bday there cause it gives the impression of being secluded even though its next to the rest of the tables.
Service: The service at Bandra is a bit lax. Some of the waiters look spaced out and dont care to answer when you say things like I gave my order 30 min back. Anyways, I do hope they stop taking customers for granted. After all todays pigs could be tomorrows bacon! The service is Juhu is pretty good though.
Food: About the fare, Id make a terrible coffee connoisseur, so Ill reserve my comments. But the desserts are yummmmmmmm! I like the chocolate avalanche and all the other choco-based desserts and the creme brule. The cheesecake is not so hot. The non-veg club wrap is pretty nice, but dont ever order the Our version of shawarma cause it a gooey, insipid little mess.
Overall its a great place to hangout!
