Just became a member of this great site...
Saw that AIRTEL KOLKATA is still ’’hidden’’ under the MODI TELSTRA link with the comment ’’... MODI TELSTRA CHANGED NAME TO SPICE TELECOM’’.... very outdated as Spice has sold the company to BHARTI ENTERPRISES way back in July 2001!
Since then the company has spent more than Rs100 crores - changed the old Nokia Switch (existent since Aug 1995 - India’s first cellular service) to a 2.5G network from SIEMENS.
Since then the customer base has increased tremendously.
Hope to see more contributions on cellular services of AIRTEL Kolkata, HUTCH Kolkata (formerly USHA MARTIN/COMMAND).
