After all the hype created, I avidly went to watch Mohabbatein but was disappointed. I normally like love stories if they are sensitively made. The plot was ok but flimsy. The love stories of the youngsters did not seem at all strong except for the Jugal Hansraj one. I especially did not like the Jimmy Shergill sub plot.
The music was ok, nothing great except for the title song. The three girls are ok but I think that among them, Shamita has more poise and a good figure. The rest are okay. Aishwarya is good as usual.
What I hated was the way the director has exploited the new girls! The new girls are made to wear VERY skimpy outfits which look incredibly bad while Aishwarya wears nice and graceful dresses. Like Shobha De says ’’someone has a cleavage fixation’’.
The guys are have acted quite well, especially Jugal Hansraj is endearing. He has the ability to make any role look believable.
As for Amitabh, he is very good as usual. Shahrukh is also good.
However, overall, the film starts getting on your nerves, especially after the first half. However, they managed the ending quite well.
