The man whose name is written in the history of India’s greatest wins in outside India. Yes, he is the one who produced a winning partnership with Yuvraj in the Nat West final in England in july-02. Both played well in the finals, but it was Kaif who really rattled the England bowlers till the end of the game with the score 87 not out. That gave the victory for India in the finals.
Indian middle order has been a bit trembling for years until the young cricketers like Kaif and Yuvraj joined the team. These two men have really played the game for India in the Nat West final in England in July 2002. It was a scintillating win over England after a long time. The performance of India nowadays has been depending on the key players like Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid. But these youngsters have proved that the middle order is the real backbone of a team.
As a middle order batsman it was a spectacular show by Kaif . He has shown his capability in the Junior World Cup too. He was top scorer for India and in overall top scorers he stood in 4th place in the 1998 Junior World Cup in South Africa and 6th in the 2000 Junior World Cup and led India to win the title in Sri Lanka.
He is very young and athletic and rated among the fittest players in the country. He was also part of the Under-15 World Cup in 1996 and Under-19 World Cup winning side in 2000. He is playing cricket from a long time and the proof for this is obtained from the above words. He started playing winning innings from here. And still he has continued it in the international level too.
He is not only good in batting, but also too good in the field. Though he has no much contribution with the ball, he has been a new power for India and a brave frontier. He has played very fine innings in many matches with great patience and handled many situations like one related to the Nat West finals in the July-02 in England. He has to handle with more confidence.
He must play with great care. Sometimes he threw his wickets trying to hit over the fields. He has to improve his batting more. In fields he has no problem, no misfields, a good fielder.
There are many past players from UP who have tried their hand in international level; but couldn’t show their bit for the nation. But this man has shown his magic just in a single match. But it is not at all over. He has to play still many matches in his whole career. The coming period is very crucial for him. He has to put effort in every match and has to play with great determination to maintain his place in the team. And coming world cup is the best chance for him to show his performance worldwide. I think he can become a great batsman in the future if he continues with his rhythm in his play.
Hard work PAYS.
