As funny as it sounds Mohra was/is one of my favorites while growing up.so as someone else mentioned-w/ppl reviewing the recent releases I decided to comeback and review this one instead.
The movie revolves around four characters all of whom provide excellent performances.
-Akshay Kumar a la Amar is a cop(the stern cop that he plays best)
-Raveena Tandon(who is Roma) a journalist and is paired up w/Akshay
-Sunil Shetty as Vishal is a simple guy who finds himself caught up with thedark side of the city after the death of his wife and sister-in-law
-Nasreerudin Shah-lets just say he is the mahanayak of the movie
The story has both Akshay and Sunils character going after the bad-guys(the typical drug-selling gunda kings-Gulshan Grover and Raza Murad). The catch is unlike most movies where both heroes are pals.in this case Sunil and Akshay are not buddies who work together to go after these gundas. On the contrary Akshay always holds Sunil as a criminal in his mind because Sunil has been convicted of murders(murders he committed to avenge the death of his wife and SIL).
While Akshays character works for the police Sunil is going after these gundas with the support of Nasreerudin who convinces him to clean up the citys grime. And so the story progresses.
Throw in some very hummable songs-in particular Tu Cheez Badi Hain Mast Mast and Na Kajre Ki-and youve got pure entertainment for a couple hours.
Next time it comes on Dish or youre looking for something non-recent to rent out definitely check this one out.I have seen it countless time and never tire of it. And its a lot better then most of the fare releasing nowadays.
