The only reason I wanted to see this movie, because I heard it from someone that it is really good, despite the fact that it has bombed at the Box-Office. And then, another reason was that I loved one song from this movie called Jaan Leva... But I was shock to know something about this movie...
Please see below...

During the credits, we hear the waves of the ocean quietly. They dont show anything else in the credits, it is just the black screen with blue titles and you just hear the sounds. Moksha - Salvation is the title. It starts off with introducing Arjun Rampal and then others.
Still quiet, we fade into the next screen, which is black and white. Arjun hides his face in the rain, he looks very skinny in this scene. This was a symbol of depression, yet we are not sure of that yet. For about ten minutes, he does not speak a word, yet the expression on his face reveals it all. He writes Ritika Sanyal on a piece of rock. He kicks a rock angrily, then we see his flashbacks. It reveals, that he was with a girl before yet something may have happened to her. Back to the BW scene. It looks like one of those perfume commercials where the hot models is all good-looking and a tough guy, yet he needs a cologne. LOL...
Now it is a coloured scene, Suresh Oberoi plays Mr. Sehgal, Arjuns dad. He was a lawyer, or still is, I dont remember that. But the family is filthy rich. An argument arises between father and son, since Vikram (Arjun) has done his studies in law but doing nothing about it since it is about lies, deceit, and making lots of money. Vikram claims he will not practice law. He wants to make a difference to the country. He becomes upset with the fact of how highly influential people are really are.
Still in the coloured scene (remember the coloured ones are flashbacks and the BW scenes are the present). Manisha Koirala as Ritika Sanyal is introduced. She was jogging along with a friend of hers. Ritika stops to see Vikram, whom she loves and even though they have not met each other. One day Ritika had the courage to talk to Vikram while he was on the horse-track. Ritika comes over and says that she loves him... Vikram, being confused says, Thank You. After many tries to get his attention, Ritika finally gets the man of her dreams. First they become friends and then lovers. (That all happened in 10 minutes so dont worry).
Vikram decides to be open about himself to tell Ritika how he really is, and how he hates the fact that there are corruption with the law. An example was showed in another flashback (still coloured), that Vikram used to work in a law office for his head lawyer, Kiran Kumar. A poor muslim widow, (Farida Jalal) visits Vikram and explains about her son, Salim is innocent. Even Vikram too knows that since he has researched on the case and had good pointers/evidence to show tha Salim is innocent. Farida almost gets them as thier lawyer, but there were money issues. She only has 20, 000 to pay for them, and the head lawyer refused to help them and told Vikram to get busy with another case. We could see how the head lawyer, was ignoring Farida.
The next day, we learn that she commited suicide while her son was convicted. Vikram, finding out the bad news becomes furiously angry, and tells off his head lawyer that he has killed her. A good scene in this one, when Vikram comes to know how corrupted people are, along with his father, his friend and his boss. Vikrams strong dialogue is delivered To Hell with the court of law!!! (Shouldnt it be The Hell with the court of law?) Which is why we have come to know, that Vikram does not want to practice law anymore. Yet he still wants to help innocent people out. So we see that Vikram and Ritika wants to create an institution to help them. Yet sometimes, when someone wants to do a good deed, a bad deed may be involved...
They dont have enough money, to come up a way to begin the institution. They must come up with a way to begin this. At first, Vikram releases an article called Should we hang an innocent man?. This has created controversy among his family, and the people associated with the law. No one really have given high praises to Vikram, except for Sharan Mama, played by Paresh Rawal who wanted to help Vikram by selling his farm and give him 11 lakhs. Vikram, would feel bad, so he did not accept it. He wanted to get the money from the people who did not even work hard, and who has black money. No one would offer him the money. While getting the support from Ritika, the only way to get the money is to rob the bank. Ritika, is scared about this plan, yet Vikram, being so stubborn about it, sometimes would be cruel to Ritika. The poor people have come over to Vikram to discuss about what is going on with their lives. We can see that Vikrams minds is going in circles along with anger, hate and stubborness.
The only way, he thought was to loot the bank... More scenes of BW are shown to determine the true character of Vikram...
A few pointers about this film:
This movie has a lot of symbolism that makes you think what could happen in the end. I dont think I have seen so much symbolism in a Hindi movie like this one. (An example is, when Manisha has a bad dream about robbing the bank or when there are a lot of bad luck signs)
There is another girl involved in this movie (which happens to be Ritikas friend), in which you would be quite shock about it...
Acting Analysis:
Manisha Koirala: She was bad at some parts, and she looked quite awful. I wished there was another heroine for this film. Manisha looked really old for Arjun and she had the most frizziest hair I have ever seen! She was acting crazy in some parts... lol...
Suresh Oberoi: A quite good looking man who can act for his own age. I dont know where did Vivek got his not so attractive looking looks, but definately not from his dad. He had a small role, but he was good in it.
Special Appearances: There was a huge cast of famous stars who had very little parts, yet they were good. I think it is for you to find out who they were and what their roles were.
Finally, Arjun Rampal: This man, has blown me away! For his first movie, he was spectacular! (Other than PIAM and Deewanapan). Arjun was amazing in this film... I could not say what sort of role he played, because this had to do with some sort of psychological aspects to it. I thought he was wonderful, when he delievered his dialogues and showing the dark side of his...
Goofs: There were a lot of fake sets in this film which would make you laugh
