Daniel Defoe at his very best

I have read this novel and I would say it’s worth reading it because it offers new perspectives on women and their place in society.

It’s an 18th century novel and Defoe is daring enough to write about a woman who uses her body as capital. Moll- the woman protagonist indulges in all kinds of criminal activities for the sake of survival. So, it’s a very different kind of writing. The novel has sub-chapters and the fiction is lucid.

I think every modern reader needs to read this novel at least once to experience this experimental writing both in terms of thematic concern and plot-construction.
