Directed by Ravi Udaywar, Mom is a same story re-filmed in a different way, according to me. Devki is a step mother, her daughter Arya gets raped in a party, then she recovers, like all films, the police failing rather taking the side of the political parties, Devki arranges a detective. Losing he case in the court, the "all time" chase begins between the villain and the hero(in this case heroine). Lastly Devki kills the main man behind the rape.
Almost same plot was shown in the film Drishyam casted by Ajay devgan.
Coming to performance, Sridevi leaves no question of critics. Sajal Ali, Akshae Khanna, Anan Siddiquie also played very well. But Nawazuddin makes you fall in love with his acting skills here, just spell bound.
Music donot amaze me at all, though its A.R Rahman, there is not that thing.
Anay Goswami tried his best, but I think can be improved a much more in the field of cinematography.
