Monsoon Wedding is about a family that is preparing for a wedding of their beloved daughter. Mira Nair have shown a modern family in Delhi. They talk more English than Punjabi!
Anyways, the movie is not very long-thank god! Anyways the movie is well directed and goes straight to the point. Everyone has performed well in this movie.
The movie on the whole is occasionally funny and then again it is serious on such issues dealing of children dealing with sexual abuse. The movie is for mature people, though you will start laughing! In the middle the movie does lose it a bit, but then it comes back to the right place, where you are interested.
The best point about this movie is that it was a story based on a realistic background, I could not disagree with anything in the movie. I thought that the movie protrayed a good sense of ’family values’-such as how a family sicks together and things can go wrong when you least expect it to happen in your own household. It is mainly based on trust. Plus we see a Delhi girl who is (in a weird way) today’s girl- though she does stick my her family and her traditions.
But there was something missing. Something that I cannot really pin-point to, its as if I know that the movie does lack something-but I do not really know what it is. (I have lost you now-haven’t I?...yes, yes I know I’m crazy!)But it is true.
Anyways, I get to watch more movies like that, but they must keep flowing-not get a bit slow or boring where you can have a five minute nap! On the whole, one should watch this movie, there is a 50% chance that you will enjoy tis flick.
