Best posting techniques!

As the head of a recruitment firm for the last 12 years, here is what I feel:

  1. Resume Making Service: All resumes made by  Naukri & Monster are on one single format. The people who make these are those with 2-5 years of experience and all that they do is put it in their format. I am sure you can do a better job and save youself the money.

  2. Consultants use Monster, naukri and Timesjobs & shine. So POST YOUR RESUME ON ALL THREE.

3.  "Resume Blaster" service does not work. A consultant will only call you if he has a relevant opening, otherwise it will go in his junk file. Better to look at an opening and speak with the consultant during office hours.  Because a consultant may get 200-300 at times automated responses, he she may not have the bandwidth to call you.

  1. When you pay to highlite your resume, it does not mean that you will hear form the consultant. The consultant will see you highliting but it is upto him whether he is going to see the resume or not.

  2. Consultants are more interested in seeing what industry you are working in and most will look for people from the same industry atleast for Sales, operations, technology roles.

  3. READ THE JD. Do not apply if it is not relevant.

  4. Most clients are interested in those wanting to relocate. So unless your skill is rare, do not except a call for a Delhi based Job if you are in Banglore.
