I was not really into watching this movie. I just watched it since the movie to be screened for us was cancelled.
First things First
In a normal animation movie, u expect
1.A nice, offbeat plot
2.Freshness in animation
3.Good voicing and dialogues
4.Excellent back ground score
5.Most of all-Great entertainment
Monsters vs aliens was just not upto the expectations of even an average movie. With the exception of a few grabs of laughs here and there this movie had nothing and was shockingly short! The plot revolves around a girl engaged to a popular tv host. She somehow becomes huge in size and there start her troubles.
She is immediately sent to the secret prison of other ’monsters’.And yes as u can guess, sentiments rule the roost. A twist in the plot occurs when she realises she s not wanted anymore by her people on earth, to make it even more complicated an alien(a very boring one) attacks earth and the only(and lousy) possiblity of the earth being saved is by the friendly monsters!
This seemingly interesting plot has been taken up, bruised, chopped and cliche’d by all means thanks to the horrible handling. The friends of our heroine however make up a good company and hold our interest here and there. There is nothing new except the fresh animation and the colours awarded to the characters. The climax and its lead scenes were a total let down.
Dream works, i expected you to switch to a higher gear after madagascar 2, you ve disappointed me by tumbling down to a lower gear.Now wake up and start making REAL good movies like say a madagascar 3 for example :-)
An animation movie has no star power, so the only way u can make it sell is to make it as fresh as possible.What s the point in making it as boring as the normal movies?
Special animation is one thing.But nobody is gonna be interested in watching cartoons
if there s nothing worthwhile
