Follow your heart and discover meaningful life

Let me admit it. When I first came to know that my brother-in-law is quitting his IT career and going to become a farmer, I wondered has he gone nuts! But, ever since he took that plunge into an abyss of uncertainty, he has never given up. He indeed became an incredible organic farmer. He toiled the soil like one tenders a baby, he came over every obstacle with honesty and realised his dream of true happiness. I have visited his farm and had his produce and simply in awe of this man called Venkat Ravi Iyer. Raviettan as we fondly call him.

Moong over Microchips is a book in which he traverses his adventurous journey of chucking his well-paid IT job along with the stressful city life to take up organic farming in a small village near Mumbai. The book is a classic example of the old adage’where there is a will, there is a way’.

The book engrosses you till the end. At times amusing and other times thoughtful, it inspires you into believing that nothing in this world is impossible. All you need is conviction and of course, support of your loved ones. The pages, written in a lucid language explores his journey into organic farming right from getting the land to his first crop, the dilemmas, the corruption, the village life, the eerie moments, the wild encounters, village economics, lessons learnt in farming, the marketing blocks etc. In the end it also throws light on what real happiness is all about?

It is a must read for not only those who are dreaming to let loose their body from this maddening city and corporate life and to take the step to find their true abilities, but also to the rural youth that by taking up organic farming in a big way, it will not only help them become entrepreneurs but also provide healthy and nutritious food for the whole world.

Moreover, the book is like a breeze of fresh air and opens our polluted minds to think deeper and help us in realising as to where we are headed.

It’s available on amazon.in and major book stores. There is a Kindle version too.
