Experimental yet Brilliant

Moonlight was a psychological drama which will take you through  the life of a black kid from a scared kid to being a gangster. Directed by BarryJenkins this masterpiece won the Academy Awards 2016 for the best picture amidst the controversy.

The movie is basically divided in three parts:

i.Little

ii.Chiron

iii.Black

The protagonist Chiron also called little as a kid id bullied by the kids of his neighborhood and always tries to avoid them and meets a drug dealer Juan.Juan lets him stay in his home with him and his girlfriend.

The kid then grows through his teenage years facing bully problems and his mom’s drug problem. At that he also encounters a homosexual moment with his friend Kevin who have named Black. The bullies then forces Kevin to beat Chiron. Chiron gets injured and gets hospitalized. After coming back from the hospital he the bully with a chair thus landing him in rehab. After several years of this incident Chiron has become a drug dealer and owns his own area. One he gets a call and it is found out that it was from Kevin, his old friend. The two meet in Kevin’s restaurant and talk for some time and goes to Kevin’s house after closing. Then Chiron have had enough and speaks out that Kevin was the only person to touch him(had sexual exprience). Then they enter a state of homosexual sex and the movie ends in an astonishing way

The music or soundtrack of the movie was composed by Nicholas Britell and it totally goes with the story and plot of the movie and we should be thankful to the music director for improving the already masterpieced movie.

The movie basically focuse on Chiron-the protagonist so, the shots of the movie are often close up so that it can show the emotions and feelings on the faces of different characters and it is done brilliantly.

Overall the movie is a masterpiece and a must watch for the open minded kids of today’s generation.
