As a story of the scientist that becomes vampire-like creature after experiments on the proper treatment for the rare blood disease Morbius had a lot of potential. Jared Leto does a good job playing Dr. Michael Morbius, but the same cannot be said about the film in general. While it can come across as engaging with action spread throughout its runtime the movie at times feels slow, and the story doesn’t really explore the character or his choices and conundrums enough to make it intense. The fighting scenes are fun, especially the ones describing Morbius’ powers, but they often appear as side notes in the narrative. The graphics can also be described as rather good but nothing that could chiefly be recognized as extraordinary. In conclusion, Morbius is an enjoyable flick for fans of superhero as well as horror movies but do not have to necessarily hit the high notes. It’s entertaining, and I enjoyed every bit of it but was expecting much more from the movie.
